Transition Dream

Early this morning (7-28-00), I had a dream that I was in a delivery room. There was a pregnant woman on the delivery table, as well as many doctors, nurses and medical staff also. I was observing this woman in labor, and she had made it to transition (last part of labor before baby is born), but the baby seemed to be stuck. About that time the doctor gave her local anesthetic so he could perform an episiotomy (a cut the physician makes at the opening of the birth canal to make the head crown easier).

He gave her the shot and then he told her he would give her some time to let the area become dead. The anesthesiologist came over to me and whispered something softly in my ear. I kept asking him what her was saying, his voice was so soft. Finally I understood him to say that I was to get the two blankets that were rolled up and cover the birthing woman. This is when I woke.

Interpretation and Application: I believe the Lord is saying that the church is stuck in transition. In His grace and mercy I believe He is giving us more time with His Presence (anesthetic) to die to those things that are keeping us from birthing our destiny. I believe many local congregations will be experiencing fresh waves of His Presence to cause us to want to becalmed deadened to the things of this world so we can have strength to PUSH.

I sense the anesthesiologist was the Lord Jesus giving us instruction as we wait on becoming deadened. The more the Lord has to ask us to do something--the softer His voice gets. A softer voice causes us to stop and have to press in to be able to hear. You can get someone's attention much better, not by yelling but whispering. Try it sometimes with your kids or spouse and see how it works!

I felt He was saying two things when He asked me to get the two blankets that were rolled up and cover her. First the church is being given the mantle of Elijah the Forerunner. In 2 Kings 2:8 Elijah rolled up his cloak and struck the waters. He and Elisha were then able to cross the Jordan. It is time to cross the Jordan, it is time to take the covering of the Word and speak to those things that have blocked us pushing through. Secondly, the fact that the blankets were rolled up reminded me of sleeping bags that were ready to be carried somewhere. God is moving the cloud and the fire. It is time we take up our camp and follow His cloud and fire. We have become too comfortable camping in this place. Pack up and lets move, and get to pushing!!!!!
