The following 'Prophetic Article' was written by a dear friend of mine. The Lord has given her what I believe is a very detailed outline of where the church of Houston and America are headed. The Lord spoke to my heart the other day and said 'prophetic types' are like headlights for the Body of Christ. Sandee is certainly a headlight, as I know the countless 'hidden hours' she spends in intercession. At the end of her article is a P.S. of sorts written and observed by my oldest son, Justin. He is about to be a 3rd year student at good old Baylor U (go Bears), and has a summer clerkship at one of the largest companies in America, guess where--downtown Houston! As he has walked the underground tunnels that Sandee mentions, this is what the Spirit has said to him--it ties in with Gods' purpose for this city. I know it is lengthy, but if you are a Houstonian you will want to read every drop. Come to our city Lord Jesus.--Tara Dorroh

The Lord speaks to us continually but there are times when He will give us a deeper understanding beyond what we see with the human eye. The following experience with the Lord was very significant as it prepared my understanding for what was about to happen to my city and then He continued to speak out of Isaiah for the rest of the month of June (6/01).

I am a resident of Houston, Texas, the 4th largest city in the U.S. and on 6/5/01 & 6/8-9/01 we experienced the worst flooding that this city has ever seen. This was a result of a tropical depression named “Allison” (the name Allison means Truth). Because the Lord was speaking to me specifically in numbers I will refer to dates and times in the numerical rather than in the name of the month. I will recount the entire experience as it happened and then summarize its meaning as Holy Spirit revealed it to me. I will bold significant words and numbers that will help you understand how it all ties together. If you will watch closely you will see the pattern of numbers/times and how they connect with Isaiah 4 & 6 and later Isaiah 10, 45, & 61 and Ps. 29 & 90 and how they progress from His merciful judgment to His merciful redemption. It would help you gain a deeper understanding if you will first read Isaiah 4:4-6 and all of chapter 6. Then continue to look at the scriptures as you progress through the article (I use the NKJV so my scripture references are from the NKJV as that version is how He was speaking the specific words that He was trying to convey to me, there is one scripture from the NIV and He spoke it as it reads in the NIV not as it reads in the NKJV so I have noted that scripture as such). These events may have started in Houston Texas but were carried all the way to the east coast as you will see later in this article.

On 6-5-01 (Isa. 6:5, 5=grace) I awoke at 4:45 a.m.(Isa. 4:4-5) and went downstairs to have my quiet time. I got a cup of coffee and as I was headed to the living room the thought of an old morning television devotional ran through my head. This devotional time on T.V. plays soft hymns with no words, just the music along with pictures of God’s creation and a scripture verse every now and then. I haven’t thought about this program in close to 8 years. I turned on the T.V. and there it was with the scripture on the screen “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory”. I looked at the clock and it was 4:56 a.m. I went upstairs at around 6:15 a.m. to get ready for work. The phone rang at 6:30 a.m. just as I had gone back downstairs for a minute. I looked at the caller ID and it said “Out of Area”. I answered it and it was a mis-dialed fax call. I heard in my spirit “Isaiah 6:3”, by this time I had become very aware that specific things were occurring at specific times so I looked up Isaiah 6:3 and it was the same scripture that I had seen earlier “Holy, Holy, Holy is the lord of Hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.” at 4:56 a.m. so I looked up Isaiah 4:5-6 and it says “…then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mt. Zion and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.”

I asked Holy Spirit what was going on and this is what He made me understand: The facts (fax) are that when we see Him high and lifted up (Isa. 6:1) and we realize our position in Him, that we are seated above with Him in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6) (out of area) we will have a totally different perspective of things from that vantage point. Our scope of understanding is broadened as from that higher place we see more of the whole picture. This brings us closer to reality, His reality.

Then, at 6:57 a.m.(Isa. 6:5-7) the phone rang again and this time I was back upstairs at a different phone and it said “Unavailable” I picked it up and again it was another fax call. I asked again what this meant and it was this: “The facts (fax) are that My people have made themselves unavailable for the out of area experience”. We aren’t experiencing Isaiah 6 because we have made ourselves unavailable for that close examination by Him that must take place.

Be it our career’s, hobbies or even our ministry we are too busy with “things” that we view as important and they may be good things but they aren’t the “better” thing. Remember Mary and Martha? Martha was busily serving Jesus but Jesus said that Mary had chosen the “better” thing…. sitting at His feet. This is the only place we will begin to see Him high and lifted up and see ourselves as seated there with Him. Our position here on earth, what we do or accomplish is not important to Him, our position in and with Him in the heavenly places is important to Him. Unless we are seated high above with Him we will eventually fail even though temporarily we may succeed

I continued to ponder Isaiah chapter 6 for a few days. On 6-8-01 (Isa. 6:8, 8=new beginnings as in resurrection, regeneration, circumcision was performed on the 8th day) I awoke hearing the chorus of the song “These are the days of Elijah”—“behold He comes riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call so lift your voice in the year of Jubilee out of Zion’s Hill salvation comes” (remember Isa. 4:5-6). I hadn’t heard that song in a long while so I knew it was Holy Spirit stirring something. That evening as it continued to rain and the streets began to flood and the water approached our back door I kept hearing and old song about Psalm 32:6-7, and then my son asked if I had gotten out that same Psalm so I read it over and over “For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to you in a time when you may be found, surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him. You are my hiding place. You shall preserve me from trouble, You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.” Within an hour (60 min.) (Isa. 6) while the rain did not let up the water had receded back probably 15 feet from our back door!!!

As I watched the news that evening the weather forecaster was describing the storm as one that has a “training effect”. He began to draw little boxcar type shapes around each system and described it as being like a train with cars that follow each other, when one system moves through the next one follows right behind it and that was causing no break in the rain

Early on the morning of 6-9-01 (6:9, 9=judgment, the end or conclusion of things as it concerns man ie: man’s works (you will understand this judgment later in this article)) before seeing the news coverage of what had happened over night, I wrote in my journal “I feel as if I/we are on the verge of something very deep” and I began to see a vision of vast water and feeling like a ship out of control totally at the mercy of the water and waves to direct it’s path. The Lord said to me “Do not fear the wind and the waves, you must learn to trust the waves and trust the storm and the wind”. He began to use the analogy of a surfer who is skilled and trained in riding the waves. When the wave curls up over him and threatens to overtake the surfer he doesn’t panic, he relies on and trusts in his training and in the waves ability to uphold him. He stays in perfect position inside the wave. And even when he is overtaken by the wave he knows that if he relaxes and trusts in his training again the same wave that overtook him will bring him back to the surface, further down the shore in the cycle of the current (what we view as overwhelming and disastrous will actually move us further toward our destiny if we will embrace it and learn from it). After noting what the Lord said in my journal I turned on the T.V. and was astounded at what I saw. A large part of Houston was under water, especially downtown in the business/theatre district, the major medical center hospitals, the Criminal Justice and Family Law Centers, and the Bank of America building. This was certainly something very deep, literally, as the underground tunnels as well as underground and ground level parking garages and buildings had flooded (Houston’s downtown area has just over 6 miles of underground tunnels that house many businesses, restaurants etc…as well as many underground parking areas. These tunnels are accessible through many of these parking garages and high rise office buildings). The news anchors kept repeating “we have never seen this magnitude of flooding in Houston” and all of them kept repeating “we have never seen US 90, I-10, I-45, or downtown Houston flood like this” (there were semi-tractor trailer trucks stranded on I-10 with their tops just barely out of the water, cars under the water weren’t visible until almost 2 days later ). There are several major freeways in and out of Houston, I-10, I-45, I-610, US 59, US 90, US 290 US 288.

On 6-15-01 (6:1-5) at 4:45 a.m. (Isa. 4:4-5, 4=God’s creative works, 5=grace, redemption 4+5=9, 9=judgment) I awoke to thunder, lightning, wind and rain. I wondered how much more this city could take. There were many who were still without power from the first storm 7 (7=perfection, completeness) days earlier and most had what was left of their possessions sitting outside to dry out because of the flood damage inside the homes and now it was raining again and vulnerable areas were starting to see the water rise again.

On 6-22-01 (6:2, 2 stressed twice 2=a difference ie: good/evil, old/new as in character etc…) at 1:25 a.m. (Isa. 1:25, He is promising to purge and cleanse, 2= see above, there will be a change to good from evil and a new character to replace the old. 5=grace, redemption, change comes only through His grace) another storm came through with wind, lightning, thunder, rain and hail (hail represents dispelling the refuge of lies Isa. 28:17 NKJV “…I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet, the hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters will overflow the hiding place”, the Houston and outlying areas of Houston have been hit with numerous hail storms since 3-01, 3=divine perfection, solid, real, entire (complete) Trinity ).

On 6-23-01 (6:2-3, 2= a difference ie: good/evil, old/new as in character etc… 3=divine perfection, solid, real, complete, entire (complete) Trinity, the complete attributes of God-omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent etc… ) I awoke having dreamed about a major principality here in Houston. In the dream I was at a hotel that was located on I-10 (Isa. 10). There was a large gathering (meeting) going on in one of the semi-large meeting rooms and I noticed this man in the front who was very big, very dignified not only in weight and stature but also in everything about him, he exuded an overwhelming self confidence, pride and arrogance that could be felt in the atmosphere. He was a man of great power, wealth and influence. There were people, smaller than him who were scrambling to serve his every whim as if they were afraid to upset him yet they seemed to need his approval and recognition. After observing this for a while I found myself in one of the hallways upstairs in the hotel with several others. We had discovered who this man really was, why he was in Houston and what his plan was. We were running with some sort of evidence down the hall and split up to avoid being caught by those of his group who had been sent to catch us. While I was running I could see into the room where this man was and I could see him for what he really was--demonic, he was very angry and was giving orders that we be found and the evidence be taken from us –end of dream. I looked up the word “hotel” and it was defined, among other things as a semi-permanent place of residence. The word “semi” means partly, not fully, imperfectly, twice in a specified period ie: semi-annually. I-10 is where the semi tractor trailer trucks were under water.

Isaiah chapter 10 begins with judgment being pronounced against those who through their pride, arrogance and greed have made unrighteous judgments and decrees. The Lord is about to judge the King of Assyria whom He has allowed to oppress the people. The King of Assyria had no clue because of his pride and arrogance that he was being used by God and was about to be judged by God.

I looked up Assyria and this is what it means: to move forward, to lead ie: leaders, to call blessed, to make progress. I believe that this dream is saying that the current system of corrupt leadership in this city (City Hall, the court system, the business /financial dealings and even the hospitals (healing centers) as well as in the church is in a semi-permanent place and will be uprooted and dislodged so that a foundation of true, righteous judgment can be established.

To summarize these events and scriptures we must understand the kindness and severity of God. The foundation of His throne according to Psalms is righteousness and justice and because of that He must and will judge sin and injustice. His blessing and judgment falls on the just and the unjust alike and we must be very careful not to assume that someone who was devastated by the flood is in personal sin. This event was a warning to those who have ears to hear that His eye is on the poor, the widow, the fatherless and the downtrodden in Houston and we must not continue to tolerate sin, greed and pride that cause injustice.

Houston is the 4th largest city, 4=God’s creative works, Isaiah 6:4 says that “the post and the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out”. There is no doubt that this was a shaking created and sent by God to shake the foundations of this city.

The hardest hit besides residential areas were the major access roads, freeways, connecting Houston to the rest of the U.S. and those connecting residential areas to downtown Houston. Then there were the many businesses especially downtown because of the flooding in the tunnel system. The tunnel system in Houston winds underground for over 6 miles connecting 55 of its buildings (5=grace, double grace) all of these buildings are full of diverse types of work. When the flooding started in downtown the water rushed underground with such force it broke through one of the walls connecting to the tunnels. This started a chain reaction that ended up flooding up to waist deep much of the underground area of Houston. I believe this is saying that the walls of division that have not allowed acceptance of diversity and the walls that have allowed strongholds of injustice (ie: arts/theater, judicial, financial, even medical) in Houston to hide in their sin are being shaken and will be brought down. Interestingly, the play that was on stage in downtown at the time of this flood was “Devil’s Disciple”, much of the underground flooding started in the theatre district.

Several of our Medical Center Hospitals were hard hit with 8-10 feet of water flooding the basements where years of research was ruined. One clear example of why this happened to one particular hospital is that this one hospital several years ago was given the opportunity to house a potential cure for many incurable diseases such as cancer, leukemia, many types of arthritis and the list goes on. They took this device which supplied pure oxygen infused into the blood via transfusion as a “pilot program” for a few months where they saw tremendous results. But due to pressure from CEO’s at major drug companies threatening to withdraw support the hospital opted to end the pilot program caving in to the pressure of greed. It was only a matter of time before God would vindicate those who could have benefited fully from this but were denied their healing because of the greed of what is supposed to be a “healing center”

The Bank of America and the Criminal Justice and Family Law Centers are still, one month later being renovated. They were not only flooded in the underground but were without electricity for weeks with temperatures reaching as high as 107-112 degrees inside while employees had to use the stairs in excess 42 floors to get documents and important things needed to carry on work at another temporary work site. With no electricity and no activity in these buildings they started to become the home of rats and other rodents while they were awaiting their renovations.

Many of the downtown buildings experienced fires while the electricity was being turned back on because of damaged internal wiring as a result of the water. Many homes accessible only by boat could be seen from helicopter coverage burning while completely surrounded by water. The spirit of burning and spirit of judgment (Isa. 4:4) were all over Houston and its surrounding areas. There are many more things that stood out as so obvious in the spirit. Too many to even list, it could go on for countless pages.

The reason the Lord focused on US 90, I-10, I-45 & I-610 is this:
Ps. 90 speaks of how quickly things can change, living for the moment and then losing it all, being carried away by the flood, like a sleep (Many people awakened from sleep to find that their homes had flooded and they had lost everything. They went to bed thinking it wouldn’t happen to them because most of the areas that flooded have never flooded before). Needing to learn to number our days and gain a heart of wisdom. “US” rather than “I-“ is saying that He is watching America. I awoke during all of this hearing “Eye on America”.

I-10, I-45 and I-610 are Interstate Highways, the focus there is on “inter” or “enter” meaning to go in, to take possession of. He is showing the process (training) of entering into the promises, the promised land, taking possession of what He has called this city to be.

In Isa. 10 the Lord is bringing to judgment unrighteousness, the lying, cheating, greed, deception, pride, arrogance and human intellectual wisdom that has oppressed the people. I-10 E the direction that this storm followed goes all the way to the east coast, the storm went all the way to the east coast, this was not only for Houston.

In Isa. 45, He raised up Cyrus, though Cyrus did not know God as many of those whom God will raise up now will not know Him either, Cyrus was humble and available to be used by God an through Cyrus the blessing came vs. 8 “Rain down, you heavens, from above and let the skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open, let them pour forth salvation and let righteousness spring up together. I, the Lord, have created it”. God said He would open before Cyrus “double doors” so that the gates will not be shut. Remember the 55 buildings, 5=grace, double grace!!

Isa. 61 the Lord’s promise of salvation, rebuilding the old ruins, repairing the ruined cities, possessing double, loving justice causing righteousness to spring forth!!!

Ps. 29 was another one that I kept hearing. The area that I live in is accessible to downtown from US 290. I kept hearing “The Lord sits enthroned over the flood”. When I looked in the NKJV it read “The Lord sat enthroned at the flood”. I kept hearing it so I looked at other translations and in the NIV is says it just as I was hearing it.

The reason for the focus on Isaiah chapter 6 is that we are being given an invitation here in this city. An invitation to allow the gates and doors, the foundation of this city to be shaken by God and to see our true condition as Isaiah did. Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up with His train filling the temple in the year the King Uzziah died. And it caused Isaiah to see his own true condition and repent of his sin. This opened the way for God to purify him and send him out into his calling. Isaiah was told to tell the people that basically they were seeing and listening but not learning and changing. This was due to unrighteous leadership (vs. 10). When Isaiah asked the Lord how long the response was until judgment had taken it’s course and the ways of man were undone.

King Uzziah (Isa. 6:1, 6/01, 1=unity, primacy, excluding all difference, beginning) though he was credited as following the Lord found himself at the end with leprosy. This was due to his pride. King Uzziah tried to take over the duties of the high priest. He was struck on the forehead with leprosy. Interestingly, he was struck in the same place where the high priest wore the gold miter that said “Holiness unto the Lord”. King Uzziah’s pride led him to defile that which God reserved as holy. God will not continue to endure a leadership within or outside of the church who are leading and ruling in presumption and pride.

Each of us have a responsibility to allow that deep examination of the heart that will expose “King Uzziah” in us. Until he is dethroned and the leprosy removed from our forehead (our mind, will and emotions, our double mindedness) we will defile and profane His great Name and His work with our own self will. And we will not as true priests of His kingdom be able to make righteous judgments and deal fairly with all people.

As I watched the news during the "Allison Storm" coverage with the weather forecaster describing the storm as one that has a “training effect' I recalled Bobby Connors' vision several years ago about a train and the name on the train rotated with the words “judgment and mercy” and the tracks were named “truth and spirit”. This storm was described by one of our meteorologists as having a “training effect” as he drew out and described little boxcars. Allison, the name of the storm, means TRUTH and the scriptures that the Lord used to parallel with the dates, times and Interstate Highways clearly speak of His Spirit, judgment and mercy. If you look at an aerial view of I-10 and I-45 they parallel each other with the appearance of train tracks.

On 7/4/01 I sat down with friends to play dominos and the name of the particular game they wanted to play was “train”. The whole concept of the game is to strategize how you will use the dominoes you have been given to make your train yet at the same time you must be aware of what the others are doing because there comes a point where you need their train to get rid of some of your dominoes. I asked the Lord what He was saying and He showed me that just as each of us in the game needed to be aware of our own calling, strategy, assignment we also had to depend on the others to connect with if we were to have a chance of winning. We must, with a pure heart and pure conscience learn to accept and love one another in unity of spirit. Ps. 68:18 and Eph. 4:8 say that He led captivity captive in His train.

If we are truly His temple, then as He is lifted up and enthroned with in us His train will fill us, the temple and we will connect with each other to lead captives out of bondage into His truth and light. Isa. 4:5-6 says that after the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning have done their work “then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mt. Zion and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and a shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from heat, for a place of refuge and for a shelter from storm and rain” We are carriers of His glory. During the shaking (6:4) Isaiah saw the whole house filled with smoke. Jesus wants to inhabit this city with His glory and He will do it through each of us individually and corporately. That is His way, that is how He has ordained it to be. Let’s get the house, individually and corporately cleaned out and let it be said…. “There’s a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on”!!!!

This disaster has brought a measure of unity in this city. People have come together across all denominational and cultural lines to help each other but we still have a long way to go. May God’s mercy sustain us through each trial and may we learn the eternal lessons of His kingdom.

Houston-The Heartbeat of God

I was walking around in the tunnels and got the sense that the underground tunnels were like the veins and organs of the city. The flood wiped out some of these veins, or rather cleaned out some of these veins to let the glory and prescense of God manifest and flow through the tunnels. When you think about it, these tunnels go to different buildings all over downtown, which can be seen as appendages (arms, legs, etc.). As God has broken down and cleaned out these veins, and new blood or life begins to flow through these tunnels, it will spread all over downtown, because the city is like a body that all works together, and as she is revived a spiritual renewal will come forth. Come Lord Jesus!
