The Return of Innocence Return
of Innocence Several years ago the Lord began to speak to me about the return of innocence to this nation. In recent days it has become a more defined and clear word. It occurred to me that it has been about 40 years (a biblical generation) since our nation mourned the loss of its' beloved President in November of 1963. Having gone through deep grief myself several years ago, I can tell you that grief is the same as tearing your heart out and exposing it bare for all to see, in others words it leaves you highly vulnerable. It also takes months to be completely healed of grief. In just a few short months after the assassination, a time in which America was still very wounded and vulnerable to dark spiritual forces, the biggest group to hit the music scene arrived from England in New York City in February 1964. Isn't it interesting that the biggest grief this nation has ever encountered was on 9-11-01, in New York City. With this group came the embracing of New Age philosophy that is so common place today in a nation that was founded on Christian principles. Please understand I am not bashing a singing group, I listened to them like everyone else. But I now operate as a spiritual observer, looking at the ways satan takes advantage of the human race and sets up his strongholds to captivate a people. Grief is certainly one of his biggest advantages. It is interesting to note that the singing group had their second appearance live on a national television show in a city where the biggest fight started over the highest seat in this nation, Miami, Florida. It is ironic that in 1961 our President established the Peace Corp, an agency of volunteers to help Third World countries. Little did he know that peace was the last thing the 1960's would know. The sixties ushered in the first man in space, the feminist movement, civil rights with the assassination of MLK, the first military engagement in Vietnam, and the assassination of RFK. Could it be said that the sixties were the beginning of a loss of innocence in America? Sadly, the loss of innocence has not only infiltrated the nation, but worse, the church as well. The rebellion in the church today is at an all time high. Ministries are falling and failing everyday. The church prior to the sixties was content to keep church behind the walls of the church. Not until a brave heart like Martin Luther King began to take the Justice of Christ to the streets was the barrier broken that took the church outside its' four walls. I believe
the Lord wants to begin to restore the innocence of a nation called
America. This is not something we (the church) can do, but it is something
that we (the church) can participate in with the Lord. In order to
restore the innocence of a nation, God will begin with restoring the
innocence of Christ to the church. Holiness and purity will be our
calling card. It will be the only thing that will be able to carry
the Glory of the Lord. It will be His Holiness in us forged by the
furnace of purification. We will see the church touch and change the
world, instead of the world touching and changing the church.
