Caught
Up in the Spirit
- On Sunday April 7,1997 at around 5 am I was dreaming that my cousin (Denise) and I were eating grapes with this man at a little cafe. Suddenly, it went from a dream to being caught up in the spirit. I found myself at first thinking I was under a tremendous waterfall because of the sensation on top of my head, and because I heard water (like the book of Ezekiel and Revelation talk about "the noise of Thy waterfalls"—it is describing God’s voice). Then I realized I was being caught up in the spirit like Ezekiel, Paul and the Apostle John! I was traveling at lighting speed. I know now that I was in my spirit and my body was still on my bed. But the spirit is what makes me who I am! Your spirit is what makes you who you are! I was the same me, except I felt more alive and not inhibited! Suddenly, as fast as I took off I stopped and there was complete silence. There I was in outer space floating like an astronaut, with billions of stars and galaxies! The first thing I did was ask the question, "Lord, where are you and where am I?" Immediately Jesus answered my question like this, "You are in the second heaven, this is the level of your authority right now—but there is more to come". I looked over to my left and what seemed to be light years away was a bright object that I knew to be heaven, or the Holy City. It was so bright I started blinking my eyes and immediately I was back in my body blinking my eyes on my bed! I said loudly in my spirit. "NO Lord—I want to go to the Throne room and see your face!". But it was not to be. The time had not come for that. This was only an introduction from the Lord in deeper matters of the Spirit. I have had many more of these encounters since that day. Slowly but surely I get closer to the Throne each time. I do not try to do this. I am always asleep and usually dreaming when this happens. It doesn’t happen a lot—a few times a year. Each time it happens makes me only want to see Him more. I have been promised a visitation and commissioning by Jesus, and I am still anxiously awaiting His timing for it as of this writing (May 27, 2000). I have prayed for years that I wanted to have what Paul and Ezekiel and John the Revelator had—a catching up and visitation to the Throne. I believe the Father loves to give you the desires of your heart, so if He has put it in your heart, ask for it! We must be careful to wait on His timing for many reasons. I tell Him all the time that it will be His grace and mercy to allow me to see what others have seen. I know I can never be "good enough", "pray enough", or "fast enough" to get this look into the revelations of heaven. Only His grace and shed blood would allow anyone who has had this gift of Revelation be able to not only receive it, but after the fact have the humility to handle it. I say "YES LORD!", how about you????
