Babel Reversed

Now that I have been a Fire Chaplain for 6 months and learning way more than I ever thought I would about Emergency Response, I have been noticing something prophetic.

There is a series of classes one takes as part of the Emergency Response Personnel called the NIMS or National Incident Management System. NIMS has been developed so responders from different jurisdictions and disciplines can work together to better respond to disasters and emergencies, including acts of terrorism.

In the aftermath of 9/11 one of the biggest problems the government faced was the fact that the different First Responders (police, fire, EMS) couldn't communicate at the disaster site because each department had their own language. Thus, NIMS was born to give every First Responder a common language to be able to cross the lines between departments and have a unified language to help with the response to disasters that call for multi-agency response.

With all that said, I begin to think back to Genesis 11 (NIV):

The Tower of Babel

1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
3 They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."
5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. 6 The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
8 So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel-because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

The reason the Lord couldn't let them have a common language in Genesis, was because Christ had not come in the flesh yet for redemption. There was still sin nature due to Adam's fall. Unified sin-nature would not have been good since God gave man dominion over the earth.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." (NASB)

Since Christ has come and we should have reckoned our sin nature dead, the Lord is beginning to release His Kingdom through us. The goal has been and continues to be that the Lord is maturing His saints so that we can b e trusted not to build another Babel but rather His Kingdom on earth. Notice in Genesis 11 it said they used bricks not stone. Bricks are man, stones are God made. Ephesians 4:13-16 (NKJ) says:

…..till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

I think the fact that the government of our Nation is reversing confused language for First Responders is a prophetic sign that the Lord is doing the same work with His church spiritually. We are leaving the confused language of our own denominations, creeds, and religious belief systems, and returning to the common language that Adam had with the Lord as he was accustomed to walking with the Lord in the 'cool' of the day in Genesis 3:8.

The Lord is going to speak to us as King of His Kingdom and He will use 'Kingdom' language, if you will, to begin His release of that Kingdom in the earth. This time His people will not build their own Tower of Babel, but instead build His Kingdom.

We are being taught a 'Unified Command System' of the Kingdom because those who have been through the refining, maturing and purifying fire of God will not only be able to communicate with each other, but more importantly communicate with the King Himself. And of His Kingdom there will be no end. Amen.
