Day of Atonement 2012

This year’s Day of Atonement occurred on Friday October 7- Saturday October 8. I was on the West Coast during the Day of Atonement so we did not gather as a group.

A few days before I left for California/Oregon I had an open vision of my little 4 year old grand daughter ‘Emma’. I saw her upon waking one morning as plain as I see all the time. She was standing by my bed and she threw her head back and arms up and squealed with laughter. That was the extend of it.

At the beginning of the Day I was with Emma for her 4th birthday. She had a little girls birthday party, and I cannot tell you how many squeals of laughter I heard over and over from these little girls all evening long.

I knew this would be a major theme of the 2012 Day of Atonement. The following is what several close friends of mine and I believe the Lord impressed upon our hearts for the year to come 2012. And as always, we don’t believe it is the end of all things, rather that the Kingdom is coming to the earth through God’s people and it is in reality the beginning of all things!

 

1) Theme and Verse
Esther 9:20-22

Esther 9:20-22...when God’s people got relief from their enemies, the month in which their sorrow turned to joy, mourning somersaulted into a holiday for parties and fun and laughter, the sending and receiving of presents and of giving gifts to the poor.

Because we believe that the gospel is good news (Mark 1:14) and that the Kingdom is advancing (Matthew 11:12) and that Jesus is increasing (John 3:30), we believe we are living in a time of celebrating. The first miracle Jesus performed was at a celebration of a wedding! Made more wine for people that had been drinking all night! And He made the best wine for last. That is a prophetic key...the best wine, the wine of the Holy Spirit saved for our generation. The Spirit will give joy to SEE what the future holds. ANd joy causes us to be extravagant givers to the poor.

Jeremiah 29:11 Says that God knows the plans He has for us and  those plans are to give us a HOPE and a FUTURE...that means something good! Remember the gospel is GOOD NEWS. Now you might be saying, but look at the world, look at our nation...look, look, look...You can look, but never see...the prophetic breath of God doesn’t just look, it sees....If you have Jesus Christ living in you, then the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10), the spirit of the future lives in you!

We should be the most happy, hopeful people! Our Hope is in a Person, His Name is Jesus.

I was thinking about the 3 items in the OT ark the other day.

1. The Manna

2. The Tablets

3. The Budded Rod

The Manna=Provision
The Tablets=Guidance (law is not written on our hearts)
The Budded Rod=Fruitfulness and Authority’

Everything we need is ‘in Christ’, when we are ‘in Him’, we have it all...He is all...

The revelation of His Finished Work will continued to be revealed causing the Kingdom to tumble forth from believers. It will also cause those who are ‘seers’ to have joy unspeakable, because they see spiritually and know God is up to something great.

Think of it this way, we take the King and His Kingdom everywhere we go. We are the ark...we are the Temple....Puts a whole new meaning to the antiChrist rising in the Temple. Don’t let it rise in you and me...we are the hopeful ones, who want Christ to be fully expressed in our individual and corporate Temples.

 

2) Color of the Year in Fashion
Honeysuckle (aka Pink)

How many of us know that pink is the color given to those that face Breast Cancer specifically. This is a whole army of warriors in pink that are standing against a spirit of cancer and saying NO MORE. Our femininity represented by pink has had enough, no more cancer! We call forth and declare the cure! These warriors have the authority to declare this because they have OVERCOME! Watch in the next few years if we don’t see this army’s war cry affect the medical community and to see a cure come forth.

Revelation 10:8-9 –“Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, ‘Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.’  So I went to the angel and said to him, ‘Give me the little book.’  And he said to me, ‘Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth’”.

This verse could possibly speak of those God has called to overcome cancer. That is why it would make their stomach bitter (the reality of treatment and how it affects their lives), but taste sweet in their mouth (the overcomer, who then has authority to pray for others and against this as a stronghold in women in particular

 

3) Number for the Year
4

On the fourth day, God set the heavens in the proper relationship to Planet Earth. The number 4 represents how heaven affects the earth. Remember the Lord’s prayer..‘Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on EARTH as it is in HEAVEN.

We are to be seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6), and affect the earth with heaven being poured out of us.

I also think my grand daughters name Emma has a prophetic meaning as well for the earth. Emma means ‘whole’ or ‘complete’. God is giving us revelation of the finished work that encourages us that we are whole and complete ‘in Him’. We may be immature in an area, but we no longer have the old nature that supports bad behavior.

The more we are reminded of who and WHose we are, the more we will respond and grow in our new nature. Remembered, Christ not only died FOR us, but we died WITH Him. (Romans 6:8)

 

4) Recover the Spoils
1 Samuel 30:1-20

1 Samuel 30:1-20—David recovering what had been taken from him…As the Kingdom Comes in different places that we are given authority to go, the spoils should be taken back to the church...healing, delivering, prayer, miracles, discipleship....all that is ‘In Christ’ remember belong to the church.

The temptation to ‘get the spoils back’ will be to DO something to get them. It was interesting to us that one of us was performing a wedding during that week of the Day and another was a retreat. These spoils do belong to the Bride of Christ, BUT they will be taken in the place of spiritual rest. We are only to do what the Father is doing, say what He is saying, and go where He is going...don’t add anything to His finished work!

Joshua 24:13-15
So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’

Duet 6:10-11 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,

 

5) The Pitfall of Misunderstanding

We must take care to let our yes be yes and our no be no, and assume that others yes are yes and their no’s are no’s. Otherwise we risk getting misunderstood and feeling offended.

The key to seeing this happen is communication! Talking it out most of the time will correct anything the enemy has tried to skew.

We may also have to take the step of either wanting to be ‘right’ or wanting to be ‘reconciled’. Pick your battles, don’t make mountains out of molehill and at the same time be courageous to make healthy boundaries, especially with family members! DOn’t tolerated control and or domination in yourself or others!

Let’s stay free of the entanglement of offense so we can see what God is doing in heaven and be the conduits for releasing it into the earth in whatever field of authority God has given us.
